Toric Contact Lenses Information

Can you read that sign across the street? You are lucky if you can because I can hardly see it let alone reading it. If you have 20/20 or perfect vision, please consider yourself to be lucky or can I say blessed? I have always had problems with my vision, but for the longest time I refused to wear glasses. My grandfather took me to the eye doctor for the first time, but I refused to wear my glasses unless I was in class and needed to read the darn blackboard from way across the classroom. Other than that, I didn’t mind the world being a little fuzzy. Some how it made people more beautiful, don't ask me why. The day came though, when I had to give in and wear my glasses all the time. I hated them a lot, so I went in for contacts. When I came out of the eye doctor, I had learned about toric contact lenses.

I supposedly have what is called astigmatism in my left eye. This means that my eyeball is not round like it should be, but is somewhat a bit oblong. This adds to the vision problem in that eye, and for the longest time, you couldn’t wear contacts if you had this. They now have toric contact lenses to correct this problem, and I can now see better than I have ever seen before. The toriccontactlenses are different from the regular ones, but you would never know it once they are on your eye.

Toric Contact Lenses Benefits

There is one really great benefit of toric contact lenses. They are different indeed from regular lenses in both size and feel. For the most part, toric contact lenses are larger, and they are made of a slightly thicker material than regular contact lenses. This is because they must hold their shape while on your eye or they won’t do you any good. When it comes time to insert my contact lenses, I know that I will never mix them up because I can easily see the difference between the two kinds that I have.

I have found that the toric contact lenses do cost almost twice as much as the regular lenses, but I think they are well worth the price for me. I once ran out of them, and had to use a regular lens in my eye until my order for toriccontactlenses could be filled. I couldn’t see right, and I ended up with a pounding headache. I knew it was the lenses and I had to take them off to get rid of the pain. You can order these lenses in the same places you get regular contact lenses, though like I said, you do pay a bit more for them. When you get your order, make sure the package says toric so you know you have the right lenses. I sure enjoy my new toric contact lenses now.
